Upcoming SUT-TAMU Events:
Society of Underwater Technology TAMU High School ROV Competition
Saturday April 6th, 2019
The Society for Underwater Technology, Texas A&M Chapter (SUT-TAMU) would like to invite interested high school groups to apply for our High School ROV Competition!
3 high school student groups (5-10 students per team with an advisor) will compete using ROVs created from kits in a series of challenges. The kit will be provided to students free of cost with informational materials to assist with the construction and design of the ROV. There will be a list of tasks that the ROV must accomplish as a part of the competition as well as an additional design component. Leading up to the competition students will be matched with an SUT-TAMU mentor and will be expected to provide progress reports twice a month. On the day of the competition, teams will be provided with an industry and student mentor to assist with challenges. Top teams will receive a prize and recognition from SUT and Texas A&M Engineering.
Selected groups will be contacted by SUT by February 7th to make arrangements to deliver the ROV kits and meet SUT-TAMU mentor.
